Chicken Chettinad Soup / Rasam

                        It's spicy hot and flavored soup recipe  all the way from chettinad to your home!..try, taste and enjoy.

                        It's been a very  long time since I blogged but happy that I kick started again with a spicy chetinad recipe.

                        No more stories, let's start!...



Ingredients:






Ingredients:

Tender chicken - 1/2 kg.
Tomato - 2.
Salt - as needed.
Oil - 2tsp.

Dry roast and grind (grind - 1 powder):
Red chillies - 4 - 5.
Coriander seeds - 2 tsp.
Fenugreek - 1/4 tsp.
Cumin seeds - 2 tsp.
Pepper - 1 tsp.
Bengal gram - 2tsp.

 Grind without water (grind - 2 paste):
Shallots - 10.
Garlic - 8 pods.

Seasoning :
Oil - 2 tsp.
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp.
Bay leaf - 1/2 leaf.
Curry leaf - 7-8.

Method:
1. Dry roast the ingredients and grind (grind -1 powder), grind shallots and garlic (grind - 2 paste).

2. Cut, clean and marinate the chicken pieces with 1 tsp curd, 1/2 tsp tumeric powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper powder and 1 tsp lemon juice.

3. saute marinated chicken pieces in 2 tsp oil for 2min.

4. Add in  the ground powder(grind - 1 powder) and ground paste(grind - 2 paste) + 3 cups of water + tomatoes + salt.

5. Cook till chicken is done.







6. Season it with fennel seeds, bay leaf and curry leaves in 2 tsp oil.




7. At last switch off the heat, transfer and garnish it with coriander leaves.
